That's my say

My place when I grow up

I've always dreamed of living in a different country, because I'm tired to live at the same place for years. I considerate myself a nomadic person but I never had the opportunity to travel. That's always torture me because I would love to visit the world, meet the differents culutires all over the world, learn more English and be able to mantain a full english conversation with someone. But I never travelled so I don't know who It feels when travelling.

I know that when I grow up I will be able to raise the money for travel all that I can, and recover the Lost time during my adolescence. I have also thought to go to live somewhere else where there is a different culture from mine. 
But I have spent 16 years of my life living in the same place with the same people in the same ambient, so I have really wanted a change of environment and go somewhere else to live. I'm tired of the routine.
I think that a perfect place for me would Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Although I wouldn't like to spend my whole life there, I think my youth there would be very quiet, prosperous and happy. Also, I would learn English and a new culture! But for now, I have to comfort me with Castelló d'Empuries.

Fary Tale (Berta Mateos and I)

The magical heir

Once upon a time, in the middle of the region of Stotland there was a peaceful village. Only a few families could afford to have some little properties like lands or animals. In general everybody was poor and they had to work in the gemstone mines that there were around Stotland. Mines were dark, damp and full of strange animals. It was difficult to work on them but they need it to support their families. Sometimes the little members of the family had to go to work. Even so, everybody looked happy because they considered they had enough.

Mines belonged to Dumb family since they were founded by their ancestors at the first of times. They were the first settlers of Stotland, too. For a lot of years the mines had given work to the entire village and the dwellers were grateful for that. But one year, at month of March, a family of aristocrats offered to Dumb's family a huge amount of money for the mines, and they accepted the offer. The new owners brought slaves as labor and all the people become unemployed. Dumb’s family knew that if they sold the mines, all the people would stay out of work, but that was not an obstacle for them to become the most wealthy in all Stotland.

Immediately they built a big castle for them and they decided to not mixt with the rest of the “poor persons”. Thenceforth his castle is visible from anywhere in town. Everyone admire his richness, but they hate all the family, especially the young heir, Morgan Dumb.

Morgan Dumb is considerate the most stupid and selfish person in all the village. He has never had a real friend because it is considered superior to the rest.

Every morning Morgan strolled around the village. He likes look how work the rest of people and how the miserable they seemed. Sometimes he went to the mines and he shouted something to the poor workers. Other times he liked walk around Stotland riding his horse and hold the rest of people in content. But his favorite place was the hospice, where kids are playing in the yard with sticks or simple stones. When he saw that sad scene, children in bones, pale and malnourished, Morgan laugh and laugh, more and more strong.

Since long time ago in the mines lived one small dwarf. He had seen the old Stotland, where people were happy working in mines and he had a lot of friend to speak with. The dwarf also knows the new Stotland, where people are always unhappy and have more preoccupations. The dwarf has listened about Dumb’s son, who likes to make fun of others.

One morning while Morgan was in front of the hospice the small dwarf go to talk with him:

-What's happen to you badly trained? - said the dwarf.

-And who are you little midget from the caves? You stink, did you know it? - answer Morgan in a very rude way.

-I’m a dwarf! - Reply a little angry- You shouldn’t make fun of them. Now you have money but not for that you are more important. You should help the others!

-Oh my god! Now a little underdressed hobbit is going to say me what I should to do. Make me a favor and left out of my sight!-

-Ok, now you already make me get angry with you! Can I say you another think you shouldn’t to do? You never should underestimate anyone-

-Oh please first of all you must buy soap! Or you are too poor for that? –say Morgan while he laughed a lot.

-It’s enough! – screamed very furious the dwarf- at the time of three you are going to become the ugliest, poorest and miserable man in all Stotland! And you never return to your truth form until you make a real friend. One…two…three! - And suddenly a white bright light lighted up whole Stotland.

When Morgan woke up in the morning in the middle of the street he didn’t remember anything about what had happened the day before. All was blurred in his mind. Suddenly he notices about his cloths, all was wasted and dirty. Quickly he looked him in a puddle and he didn’t recognize his face. All was terrible for him. He wondered what was happened the day before. It took all the day to remember the conversation with the small dwarf.

First of all Morgan went to try to found the dwarf but he didn’t was in anywhere and nobody wants to talk with him. After that, he went to his old castle but anybody in his family recognized him and they made fun of him, like he normally did with the others. Morgan felt very wrong like never had felt before. He not used to consider the feelings of the others, and he had never helped anybody.

Morgan was overwhelmed by all the bad feelings of the moment and he started to cry. He never had cried like now, for a real reason and not for stupid things like he used to.

While he was crying a group of boys approach him. They seems to the same age of Morgan but he never had seen their before.

-Hi guy. What happen whit you? Why are you crying? – asked one of them.

Morgan raises her head and recognized them. They were from the hospice.

-Come on guy, stop to crying! You can come to play with us. Let‘s go, I going to introduce our friends – proposed other guy.

-Ok…thanks – said Morgan with a weak voice. It was the first time that he pronounces this word.

Makes a real friend took Morgan a lot of time. He had to improve a lot of things but he was sure that when he gets it he never forgotten for all that he is passing.

Drugs at my age

All the teenagers have drugs on hand. We see them constantly, but everyone do as if nothing had happened, as if this problem didn't exist. The majority of the teenagers I know have tried soft drugs, and a few started in hard drugs. I think this is caused by the lack of information and the lack of awareness-raising of young people and also the lack of control too.

Drugs are presented in our most difficult age, an age where we form our personality and want to try new sensations, but sometimes somebody don't know where is the limit.

From what I see, every time the drugs are tested at a younger and more unconsciously way. They don't know that the majority start with a simple "joint" and they ends crawling for a line of cocaine. 

In all my time in high school, the police have just been talking about the drug once. If they believe that by putting a power point in class and pass prevention brochures is enough, then we have another problem to solve.

How the divorces affect to the children

Currently 45% of Spanish marriages end in divorce. And this percentage, more than half have children. And I wonder: Are these children prepared for such psychological pressure? 

I think that any person, whether adult or a single kid, is prepared to confront a broken family.

All the children need beside a father and a mother, because that lack from one rarely is compensated by the other. But most don't realized that these children should have help, not psychological but rather support from the people they love, their parents. These, passing through a difficult phase in his life, leave aside the needs of their children or they don't realize their emotional needs and those feels displaced.

My parents aren't divorced, but I get into the skin of all those children who, from the time of being divorced parents , his life has been a lack of control and they haven't been able to enjoy stability as any child can enjoy. There are different types of divorces, some more peaceful than others, but what doesn't change is the sensitivity of children and that if you don't care, they could become a big problem.

The harmed are always the children.

Christmas

Christmas is the most awaited celebration by all children around the world. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. 
Christmas is a very nice and very familiar time. The whole family decorates the house and they eat the best food, but also they give presents between them. This last aspect is quite discutuble: I admit that I like that I give me away things, but the evolution of this beautiful tradition has transformed a party created to commemorate the life, happiness and peace in a capitalist celebration. 
All the children connects with Christmas gifts. But this should change, because children should learn that the material is not the most valuable, but the most valuable is the real feeling that Christmas inspires.
don't want to be extremist and say that Christmas they shouldn't giving away gifts, but the parents should give more emphasis to the Christmas spirit (humility, solidarity ...) and let see their children that they are fortunate to have what they have, because other children do n't even will can to eat a hot plate.

Not only people can feel

When I hear people say that animals can not feel, I get angry. Just because an animal doesn't feel the same extent that people feel, don't mean they don't feel. This is why I wanted to dedicate this post to the feelings of animals, especially dogs. 

Many studies have shown that dogs can feel love, sadness, tenderness, compassion, respect... The facts speak for themselves: I speak for myself (and probably for most of people who live with dogs) when I say that dogs also miss. Coming home after a long day and find with a euphoric welcome from your pet, shows many things. Or scold them when they misbehave and weigh down the ears and look down, afflicted. The dogs try to show us their feelings continually, but we have to be able to know how decode them: interpret their glance or their physical expression (his tail, ears ...) helps to better understand our pet. I think that dogs are undervalued, and they shoudn't be It, because it is a magnificent animal, as much from their ability or from the mankind I see in them.

The evolution of  the generations

A few days ago my mother showed me her photos as a teenager: I saw a very innocent girl to be the age that she was, a girl whose appearance was very demure, like most of the girls of his age. My mother explained to me when at age 15 she played with dolls, or when she going to the river to throw stones with her brothers. But I can't see all these actions nowadays.This made me think: Why generations have changed with the steps the years?

Now the generations are much more advanced than before, now they do things that they made it thirty years ago, when they were of age. But, to my opinion, the older generations were the best: they lived the moment, they lived their youth without mischievousness, without malice, things were valued more because resources were limited and because everything was surprising: technology, as we know it, began to develop. In conclusion, generations have become worse and will get worse. I only hope that someday these innocence stages will reappear.

Review: Gone Girl

Gone Girl

A few weeks ago I went to the cinema to see "Gone Girl". It is a psychological thriller which deals about the disappearance of Nick's wife, Amy.

The day of their wedding anniversary, Nick went for a morning walk around your neighborhood and, upon returning, he found the dining table broken on the floor and the door forced, his wife wasn't at home. He calls the police to report the disappearance of Amy.

Gradually media pressure against Nick makes the police be suspicious of him since the beginning. As they are investigating, the police found evidence pointing to Nick as the prime suspect: strange behavior, a mistress, shopping through Amy card ... But the proof that made his detention were the evidence which rebelled a bloodstain of Amy in the kitchen and bloodstains on an iron stick.

But Nick had nothing to do with the disappearance of Amy, it was Amy who faked his disappearance and murder and hid himself in another state to avoid being discovered. She cut her hair, she dyed her hair, she changed their appearance, she bought a car and she gathered enough money to survive for several months.

A month after of the disappearance of Amy, her neighbours stole her all the money she had to survive, then don't stay little choice but to go home, but not to give himself away, she gave all the blame on her ex-boyfriend and  she explained that he kidnapped her and raped her repeatedly until she managed to kill him and escape. Upon returning at home, everyone believed her, except her husband. Finally, Nick continues his marriage because Amy threat him. The story ends in a rare and tragical way. 

Recommendation

This film gives a lot to think about. It is not like the typical films used to have a good time, but rather serve to make people think about it. I recommend it to everyone because it is well made, the script is superb and everything in it has seemed to me perfect and very well worked. Only I have to add that sometimes It is a bit violent, so I recommend that young children abstain from to see it.

Why the Strong Reaction to Renée Zellweger’s Face?

This Article begs the popular opinion about Renée Zellweger radical change and today's high speculation.

Recently, in a television program, the radical change of Renée Zellweger was commented and they debated about how little resemblance to the famous and illustrious Bridget Jones. When the whole world watched her photos in an organized event in Hollywood, the media, fans of the actress, women and men in the street began to talk about it and speculate a reason to justify her new face.

The Miss Zellweger became famous for play the role of a women without complexes, women who accept their bodies as it was. But now we can't see the person that one day we felt like one like us and who taught us not to have a pretty face means you could not be happy and live attached to your complex. Now that person seems more the wife of a president. The Miss Zellweger made a statement to People magazine which made it clear that her makeover was due to living a different lifestyle, to be more happy, to be loved and to love.

Dr. Michelle Copeland, a plastic surgeon in New York, affirms that Miss Zellweger had probably elected to have a blepharoplasty and possibly also a forehead lift. Also the doctor added that Miss Zellweger was no longer recognizable because he had lost those slightly and heavy cross-eyes that characterized her. Then she already was someone else.

Nancy Etcoff, an evolutionary psychologist at Harvard and author, said not to be in disagree with Miss Zellwewger operations, since she decided to have a change of identity that anyone in his position could have set out. 
Dr. Spar spoke of the hypocrisy of the issue, as she hugged the defects and taught us to live with them; the operation suggest us, what should we do the other imperfect women like her? Dr. Spar sentenced saying that she now has nothing special, just she passed to be the group of single women with good looking.

Personal Opinion

I think she is free to do whatever she wants and no one has to criticize the much as they have done. It is true that I think it is against the principles it has always reclaimed, but people change.

Learning How Little We Know About the Brain

This article talks about how difficult it is to study the brain.

United States and Europe have focused on the study of the brain. They are invested $ 4.5 million in Obama's initiative for better understanding of the human brain. Scientists wonder how mammals remember places.

As more progress is made in research, they find more hindrance. Science don't know which chemical or physical alphabet used the brain to decipher codes. Sebastian Seung Princeton talks about how neurons are formed from memory growing out of the cells.

Larry Abbott, physical and co-director of the Center for Theoretical Neuroscience at Columbia University, is very influential in the world of neurology. Edvard Moser, a Nobel Prize winner, described him as a "pioneer of computational neuroscience.”

Dr. Abbott wasn't changed his career thanks to a friend with who invented a technique called the dynamic clamp, a way to link brain cells to a computer to manipulate Their ideas about how cells and networks work. The question now is how neurons work together. Ways to record brain electrical activity are improving. The problem for understanding the brain is the theory, because man has the intelligence.

I think that studies of the brain have to continue advancing, because more than 90% to know about It. Larry Abbott really helped to discover the things we know about the brain and I think they should invest more money in research.

Ebola in Liberia

U.S. Effort to Help Liberia Finds Much Work to Do Before It Gets Started

This article tells the dramatic situation in Liberia: in a clearing It was going to build the first Ebola treatment center in Liberia. Tuesday morning the crusher’s engine that needed to smash rocks had broken. All materials (beds, generators ..) have not yet come to the treatment center. Approximately it will take over 10 days to arrive.

This center was created only to serve the medical staff. The longer it takes to increase hospital beds, the number of infected triples. The Liberian who took the virus to Dallas with him was rejected by Liberian treatment centers because of that there weren't beds. He died in Dallas' hospital one day later. If there were beds, this had not happened.

The major problem is that after being built the center, find nurses who want to help. Several nations would colaborate in educating 500 nurses for week. But many believe that this is impossible.

The aircraft sent to Liberia with material couldn't land because the airstrip was in very bad shape because of the rains. So they had to fix the airstrip. 

Build a special Ebola hospital is mort dificult than build a normal one. It has to have insolated rooms and bathrooms bigger than normal bathrooms, because many patients die in the bathroom after hard episodes of diarrhea and vomiting.

Personal Opinion
My opinion is that the most important countries like USA would to invest more money in treatment Ebola's centers. The disease is affecting Africa since six months ago. It has left more than 3500 dead and It's now when the other countries act. I think it's bad because the infected people in Liberia needed help since the beggining.

Hi Anna!

I started to learn english when I was approximately five years old at school. Since then my

learning has been in slowly increase. When I was nearly ten years old I took

extracurricular english classes at an academy in Castelló d'Empúries. But I was only two

years learning english in this academy because I didn't like It at all. Thereafter I was

learning english on my own, in the high school and I learned english while I was watching

series or videos or listening to music too. I don't have any official certificate. My objective is

get the First certificate and then, If I can, get the Advance, because then I'll go to the

university, and I need a good level of english. I consider that my level of english is a little

bad for my age, I aspire to more. I hope this year I get more level of english and I'll can get

at least the PET certificate.

My favourite blog

Berta Mateos ' blog is my favourite because it shows that it has worked and has spent considerable time and effort on it. The bottom of the blog is very nice and is nice to look. The posts are all very worked but, the post I like the most is Choices, because the video is a inspiration for all the teenagers and the text explain very well the video and the emotions that It express.

In conclusion I think that Berta done a very good work and she deserves a very good blogg mark.

My World: In my free time...

In my free time I do a lot of different things, for example, meet with my friends to have lunch or for a spin.I have a very great time with them because I'm always happy and funny while I'm with them. They're a awesome people and I have a really good confidence with them. But sometimes we discuss about whatever folishness.But that never cannot break our friendship.

I go run too. When I'm alone and I doesn't have any think to do I go run. That helps me to liberate me from the problems or worries while I'm running. But, in my free time I eat a lot too. When I'm bored I eat alot because entertains me. I love eat. It's my pation in live. Other pation in live is my boyfriend. I'm always with him because they make me feel fabulous and I love him very much. 

Sometimes I will play tennis with Vincent or Nina. I love these moments.

Now in summer I sunbathe to become tanned skin because in my natural way I'm very very pale. Everybody laugh at my because my skin seems a sheet. But I accept my condition.

I'm with my family most of the time and we go to have dinner or have lunch.

My world: Tennis day

Last Saturday I went to play tennis with my best friend Vincent.I woke up at eight o'clock in the morning and I went by bike till his house. We had breakfast: we ate creppes and to drink, coffee. Then, at eleven o'clock we went to tennis club by bike. It took us half an hour to go. There we played an hour and then greeted the friends who were playing there.At two o'clock in midday we went to Vincent's house to have lunch. We spent all the afternoon there and at the night  I returned to my home.

My world: My little cousin

My cousin is Iratxe. She is 5 years old. Her mother is my biological aunt and she is my mother's sister. She born in Figueres. Iratxe have blue eyes and blond hair. She looks like a princess. She have only 5 years, but but she has a strong character. Iratxe is smart and very sweet, but sometimes she's comical and really really funny. She loves eat and play with her friends in the school. Sometimes I play with her and  I end so tired... The children depleting me. I laugh a lot with her, she always makes me laugh, she knows how to do it. I love her, she is lovely.

My World: My weekend

I spend all  friday in Berlin. The Saturday at the night I just arribed to Castelló d'Empúries. I had dinner in a italian restaurant. The foot was amazing and the service was tag. Then  my boyfriend and I went to the beach to take a walk. It was romantic but It was cold on the beach so we decided to march. When we arrived to my house, we decided to go to sleep because It was late. Sunday I woke up at eleven o'clock in the morning. I went on bike with my parents. The weather was perfect for for the occasion. There was no wind and no cloudy. We went until Ampuriabrava and  then came back. I spend all afternoon doing homework. It was very boring.

Describe a photo

In this photo we can see a snake trying to bite an object. A person is catching this neck and he's provoking her to show their poisonous teeth. Her powerful green color gives potency and strength to the photo. The mouth is terrifying and the colour is a disgusting purple with a black tongue.
The snake seems angry, but both, afraid. His regard express annoyance and It is threatening. The photo is striking and colorful, powerful and unusual, and moving too.

The couple are from Germany. There isn't the fisrt time that they are in Spain. They were in Mallorca, Fuerteventura and now in Barcelona and they came to Barcelona by cruise. The couple were in Barcelona because the cruise stops there, but only for one day. They are travelling alone, only the cuple and they visited La Sagrada Família, Park Güell and La Rambla, that they like the most. The couple bought one present for their son. They bought a little bottle of chilli. They get around the city on foot. The couple only know to say Ola, si, no, señorina in spanish and the only spanish or catalan food that they tasted was paella. They considere that Barcelona is not to expensive. They said to us that the diferences about their country are the weather, because in Barcelona it is beautiful and there are a lot of people here from another countries. It is like Harvard town. Romeo and Juliet; differences between the book and the film

Question 1: In the film the story takes place in Verona Beach, an exotic city of United States. Instead of taking place on the 16th century like in the book, it takes place in the end of the 20th century. The fight between the Capulets and the Montagues in the film happens in and old circus, but in the book it happens on the Verona's street. In the film everybody dresses up modernly but in the book they didn't.

Question 2: In the film, the swimming pool is like the balcony in the book, because they kissed there.
In the book, the Capulets and the Montagues fights at the begginig, but in the movie there's fire in the petrol station and they don't have so much time for that.
The water means love because it appears in every scene between Romeo and Juliet.

Question 3: We can say that the narrator is the presenter of the news, cause it appears at the beggining and at the end. All the caracters speak in verse and they speak in "Old English".

Question 4: In the party, everybody can dresses up like they want, and in the other part of the movie everybody is dressed on a very modern way.

My World: Last Summer

Last summer I went to very different places. I went to a lot of different beaches in Cap de Creus. I love those beaches because those are awesome places for take photos and spend the day. The nature in those beaches insipre me and relaxes me.

Last summer I went to France too. There were a awesome holidays because I spent all the time with my family. My brother was always with me during the holidays. I had a really good time with her because is a spectacular woman and I love her very much.

I spent he normal days of summer in Empuriabrava with my friends. Everyday we went to the beach and there we played football or another tipical summer play. It was very funny and wonderful.

My World: My friends

I have a lot of friends, really. But I have only 2 real friends. One of my real friend is Gemma. Gemma always is caring me. She's allways by my side. Is a really good friend. Now she live in Ibiza. The distance hurt me very much but, this is the life. Last week she went to Castelló d'Empúries for a couple of days. I had a really good time with her. She's very kind, loving and special.
The other real friend is my boyfriend. He's always with me. I love him a special way and he loves me in a special way. He's loving, caring and funny when he's with me. When I have a problem, he's the first to whom explain what happens to me. And he always listen to me and he always kisses me.

My World: My favourite place

My favourite place in the world is my room. My room is comfortable, beautiful, bright and big. My bedding is pink, all my room is pink. I love this color! I decorate my room for myself. Every detail is do for myself. My mum sewed me two pillows. One is only sewed and pink, heart shaped, but the other is hand-woven. In it was hand-woven my name, Ariadna. I really love this pillow because is a emocionally detail of my room. Everytime I look at the pillows, I think in my mum and how much I love her. In my desk I have my computer, one jeweler and a photography with my boyfriend. In my dressing table I have a lot of beauty products, esencials for my everyday. 

Reflection about the first term

Thanks to all the work I did during the term I expanded my vocabulari very much. I learned to write much better, to not write spelling mistakes... These are a lot of new things that will help me to speak better english and explain myself perfectly. I learned how to do videos with Windows Movie Maker. It's very funny do that!!! I really love do videos with the computer. But the thing I love the most is do speakings, because that help me to speak english with better pronuntation, and I think that's very important for speak with other persons.

Summary: Romeo and Juliet

Romeo was Montague and Juliet was was Capulet. These two families were enemies. Romeo fell in love with Juliet at a Capulet's party. My world: New year's resolutions

Hi! What about new years's resolutions? Is a part of the year where you want to change or stop something. So I proposte to do more sport because I'm getting fat. I only eat during the day because I have nothing more to do. Every week I will go joggin with somebody, some friend or my father. I want to change some aspects of myself, for example, being more concentrated in class and not sit to Vins because He's so anoying.
